Legal Assistant

Support role for an estate planning and probate attorney as well as a general practice attorney. The legal assistant will also work closely with the legal receptionist in client coordination and closely with the office manager to maintain firm accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client care and client files

  •  Gather information about legal issues from clients

  •  Foster client relationships through client communication and correspondence

  •  Draft legal documents under the guidance of a lawyer

  •  Assist with E-filing legal documents

  •  Post office, courthouse, and bank runs as needed (mileage reimbursed)

The ideal candidate has

  •  A high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask

  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills

  •  Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word & Excel)

  •  Knowledge of legal documents, legal procedures, and court filings

  •  Experience in Florida probate, trust administration, and/or real estate is a plus.

  • Accounting/bookkeeping experience is a plus.

Education and Experience

  •  Two years of experience as a legal assistant

  •  College or certification as a legal assistant/paralegal is a plus.

Schedule

 Full-time or part-time. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Front Desk Receptionist

Administrative support role for the office of an estate planning and probate attorney as well as a general practice attorney.

  •  Create a welcoming environment by greeting guests and clients in person or on the phone.

  •  Phone coverage: gather basic information, field calls, confirm appointments, etc.

  •  Basic scheduling/calendaring

  •  Maintain confidentiality in regard to client/attorney information.

The ideal candidate has

  •  A high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

  •  Compassion and a desire to help others.

  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word & Excel).

  •  Experience in client care/customer service.

Education and Experience

  •  Two years of experience in a support staff position is preferred.
